VOIP: Not Really for Free

There is no doubting that one of the “in” things now is having a VOIP phone system. The simple truth is that people have encapsulated on many people’s minds that VOIP is essentially free and can save you lots and lots of money – even right from the start. Thus, many have jumped the bandwagon of the so called free phone. But is it really this straightforward?

The simple answer is no and we are being honest here – VOIP is not for free as many people might have you believe.

First you have to in fact, buy phone systems that are capable of VOIP. If you are only using this for personal use, a system would be very cheap indeed but if you are going to use it on a professional setting, phone systems are an expensive lot. This does not even include the extra equipment you will need and how many phones you will have to actually purchase. Second, your internet should be fast enough as well to cover for the bandwidth needs of such a system. And with more people using a single connection, it should become faster and theoretically become more expensive. Another thing to consider is the security of such systems. As you can see, VOIP is not for free nor is it a cheap investment. So please, be wary!
